Dental Sealants

Most celebrities you see on TV with flawless smiles owe it all to a cosmetic dental treatment known as veneering. Also known as dental laminates, veneers are actually fine shell-like structures fabricated using porcelain which, when bonded on to the front surfaces of the teeth – can effectively hide most dental irregularities. They work impeccably to cover and hide cracks, chipped edges, minor fractures, coloured restorations, pits, gaps, staining and discoloration, and any discrepancies of shape and size between the teeth. At Dr M. Andrew Johnson DDS, we guarantee you a stunning new smile makeover with our immaculate porcelain veneers.

During the treatment, the teeth need to be trimmed down several millimetres to accommodate the porcelain laminates. This is done to ensure that the veneers look and feel perfectly natural in the oral

cavity, instead of appearing bulky and artificial. Once the trimming has been completed, an impression of the prepared teeth is taken and sent to the laboratory where the veneers are actually made. When ready, shells are simply fixed to the front surfaces of the teeth with the help of a high-strength dental cement. This treatment is ideal for patients who want to make their smile more aesthetically appealing without having to go through long-term dental procedures.
